Health Officials are responding and looking into a community case of COVID-19 in Northland.
A Government spokesman confirmed to media that the case is being treated as a probable.
The case is reported as a transmission of someone who was recently released from a managed isolation and quarantine facility.
The last reported case of community transmission in New Zealand was on November 18 — 3 months onward it is now reported that transmission may have occurred.
COVID-19 Response Minister, Chris Hipkins and Director-General of Health Dr. Ashley Bloomfield will hold a press briefing at around 4 pm where they will reveal more information about this specific case.
