Police completed an investigation into a reported threat being made on Thursday night at St Peter’s School in Cambridge.
Waikato West Area Commander Inspector Will Loughrin says Police completed a thorough inquiry but did not believe there was any credibility to the threat.
No information was given about the details of the threat, but it is understood to be a fake bomb threat.
“We are aware this was a distressing situation for the school, its students and parents,” Inspector Loughrin said.
“We want to reassure the community, we take matters of this nature extremely seriously, and any new information that comes to our attention regarding this incident will be assessed accordingly.
Ongoing support will be provided where necessary to the school and the community.
