Police responded to a serious alleged firearms incident at an East Gore address on Hamilton Street.
The incident was reported at around 2:30 pm today.
Nearby businesses were put in lockdown as a precaution.
Officers made enquiries in the area and were satisfied that no one was put at risk.
No arrests were made nor was anyone injured from the reports.
Cordons were lifted at around 4:25 pm. Businesses were no longer in lockdown as a result.
Further enquiries will be ongoing in relation to the circumstances of the incident reported.
