A rescue Helicopter landed at Ōtaki Beach for a brief period of time, Thursday evening.
The Helicopter circled the area and shortly after landed at around 5.30pm next to the Ōtaki Surf Lifesaving Club on Marine Parade.
Just before 6pm it then took off and flew Northbound to Palmerston North Hospital.
A number of emergency service units responded to the incident.
Several bystanders watched the event unfold from the side of the road.
Police confirmed to thisquality that it was a medical-related event.
