Police report that a single -vehicle was involved in a serious crash on the West Coast, Thursday morning.
The crash happened near Harihari on Wanganui Flat Road at around 9.15am.
Fire and Emergency appliances responded to the incident including West Coast's ROA rescue Helicopter.
Reports indicated that the vehicle went off a bank and into the river.
It is understood that a person and a dog were inside the vehicle.
Stuff reports emergency services found the vehicle submerged on its side with the person dead inside. The dog survived the incident.
