Police this morning closed a road briefly to undertake a pre-planned search warrant operation in Tauranga.

The road was closed near the junction of Fraser Street and Fifteenth Avenue, with cordons in place to divert traffic through side streets and around the intersection to keep the scene clear at about 6am.

Reports indicated minor delays as traffic built up in the area for a short period.

thisquality understands it was unclear what the search warrant was for.

Though, enquiries into the search warrant are ongoing according to authorities.
