A serious crash on State Highway 43 in Stratford prompted an emergency service response on Friday.
The crash occurred on East Road at around 6.30pm involving a single vehicle and motorcycle.
Sadly, one person died following the crash. No other injuries were reported.
The Serious Crash Unit was notified to examine the scene.
The road was closed for some time while crews worked to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Detours were in place at Esk Road and State highway 43, at East Road and Beaconsfield Road.
The road reopened at around 11.45pm.
