There are three new Historical Covid-19 cases, Ministry of Health reports

Three new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today which are all reported as historical and are in managed isolation. None have been reported in the community.

The total number of active Covid-19 cases is 54. The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases are now at 2,507.

They are the numbers that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

Positive arrivals:
The first new case arrived on July 11from the Philippines via Australiapositive at day 12/staying at facility in Auckland
The second and third new cases arrived on July 22from Uzbekistan via the United Arab Emiratespositive at day 0/one out of the two is a close contact of a case/staying at facility in Christchurch

The first case was initially reported on Saturday and had been reclassified as being under investigation. Today they were confirmed as historical.

The second and third travelled together.

Another case, that was reported yesterday arriving in New Zealand on July 22 from the United Kingdom via Qatar was reclassified as ‘under investigation’ while it is determined if they are a historical case.

Testing numbers:
Laboratories have processed a total of 2,441,651 tests to date.

Yesterday, 2,844 were processed, while the seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 5,704.

COVID Tracer statistics:
On the NZ COVID Tracer app, 2,905,626 users are now registered, recording a total of 312,301,937 poster scans.

There have been 12,217,461 manual diary entries done so far.

In the last 24 hours to midday yesterday, 540,512 scans were processed.
