Two new Community Cases of COVID-19 have been reported according to Response Minister Chris Hipkins.
The new cases are students who attended Papatoetoe High School in South Auckland, is a brother and sister.
It was noted that the sister was a classmate and a close contact of the original case that became positive to COVID-19, thisquality reports last week.
Papatoetoe High School principal Vaughan Couillault said both new cases were in Year 9 and 12, NZ Herald reports.
Out of 31 close contacts at the school, only 28 returned negative while two results pended an answer.
1,523 people were asked to get tested within the school’s population. Out of 1,809 results, one was positive and 433 were pending.
There are two new cases of COVID-19 in the community today.
A close contact of the original Papatoetoe High School student case and their sibling have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health said to thisquality that interviews are continuing since last week and further information including locations of interest will be revealed during a media conference at 4:30 pm.
