Waikato District Health Board this evening has confirmed two positive Covid-19 cases in Ōtorohanga, Waikato.
The DHB provided the new case details to the Ministry of Health for release.
It is understood the two cases are close contacts of a previously confirmed case from Te Awamutu; tested yesterday and received their results today.
They are self-isolating locally in an accommodation space with public health oversight.
Further investigations into the movements of each case will determine if there are any locations of interest. If any appear, they will be provided in tomorrow's update.
A testing site will be open at Ōtorohanga Club (107 Maniapoto Street) from Monday between 11am and 3pm. People who develop any symptoms of the virus are encouraged to get a test.
