A magnitude 4.5 Earthquake shook Wellington on Monday afternoon at around 1:09 pm.
The earthquake was located 45km south-east of Seddon and had a depth of 36km according to Geonet.
The shaking intensity was light.
Over 1,200 people have reported feeling the shake.
