Whangārei Police say two people have been arrested after an elderly woman was a victim of an aggravated robbery in Tikipunga, Whangārei, Northland.
An investigation was launched prior to the arrest by authorities who worked tirelessly to find those responsible for the incident on May 13.
Two women — one aged 20 and the other aged 27 — were both arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. They'll appear in the Whangārei District Court tomorrow.
Detective Senior Sergeant Aaron Crawford says the result and outcome will ensure Police are looking after their community.
“Police hope this result provides some form of comfort for the victim, who we have been supporting,” he said.
“We would also like to acknowledge Acting Detective Sergeant Steve Anderson and his dedicated team for their hard work to bring about this result.”
Police thanked members of the public who come forward with information in relation to the investigation.
