Quiet Pact Network seeks to reimagine journalism in Aotearoa New Zealand. Not by chasing headlines, but amplifying stories that resonate long after the spotlight fades.
“Quiet Pact is about intentional storytelling — rooted in integrity and depth,” Hudson explained.
“Its goal is to create and support a growing network of news platforms and partnerships across Aotearoa New Zealand, elevating the stories that matter long after the headlines fade.”

Quiet Pact is more than just another media startup..
It is a strategic initiative to strengthen independent journalism, community media, and public-interest storytelling across the motu. Designed to empower local voices, it encourages collaborations that reflect the full complexity of community-written perspectives.
In its first phase, Quiet Pact will support platforms like thisquality, a news initiative already recognised for its truth-telling reporting. The network plans to build partnerships with emerging publishers and community-led media projects across the country.
“We’re committed to going beyond the surface — offering thoughtful, in-depth reporting that truly reflects the experiences and challenges of people throughout our communities. That means supporting journalism that listens more, rushes less, and centres people over profit,” Hudson said.
“We want to help build and connect flagship platforms — ones that are bold, values-led, and genuinely rooted in the places they report on. That means working closely with independent newsrooms, community newspapers, and new voices across Aotearoa New Zealand.”
Quiet Pact Network launches at a time when sustainability and trustworthiness of mainstream media are under scrutiny. It offers an alternative vision: journalism that is collaborative, deliberate, and courageous — unafraid to dig deep where it matters most.
“This is just the beginning,” Hudson said.
We are proudly independent, locally driven and committed to bringing authentic reporting to the people.
Every article takes time, research and care. At thisquality we believe in truth, accuracy and depth over clickbait. If you believe in journalism that rests on truth-driven reporting, sparks conversation but most of all challenges the status quo- now is the time to back it. Every contribution big or small will make a difference!
thisquality is built for the people and powered by their support. Your support helps us remain a strong and independent voice in Aotearoa’s NZ media landscape.
