Three arrested after violent Churton Park attacks, one suspect still on the run

Police have taken three people into custody following a series of serious assaults in Churton Park, with one alleged offender still outstanding.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said two more suspects were arrested as the investigation continues into an incident on Saturday, December 13 2025, where seven people were assaulted at a gathering at a Churton Park address.

A 21-year-old man is due to appear in Wellington District Court on January 22, while a 17-year-old will appear in the Wellington Youth Court on January 27. Both face charges including wounding and assault.

They join an 18-year-old man charged earlier this week, who is facing multiple serious assault charges and is scheduled to appear in court on January 29.

The group was captured on CCTV at a Mobil service station on Johnsonville Road in Johnsonville shortly before the assaults, which helped identify those arrested.

One offender remains at large. Police are appealing for information to help locate him and are urging anyone who knows his identity to come forward.

Anyone who recognises the men, or who attended the gathering, are asked to come forward. Information can be provided online at 105.police.govt.nz by clicking “Update Report” and quoting reference number 251217/8772. Tips can also be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111.
