NZ First Rotorua Candidate Billy Brown adds promoter statement after missing disclosure flagged

Does the fact that it took complaints and accountability for him to add the promoter statement after all mean he was previously trying to obscure his involvement with the campaign material?
Fair enough, after getting in trouble doesn’t necessarily mean he was trying to obscure it initially. Maybe he just genuinely didn’t know it was a requirement, or didn’t think about putting it up – who knows.
Got to wonder, isn’t this a pretty timely move now that it’s got attention? looll
s you’ve pointed out, campaign rules apply equally to all parties regardless of their affiliation.
Come on, 24 hours is hardly transparency if it takes that long for the weirdo to add a statement after being questioned about it.
The inclusion of the promoter statement is a positive step.
It’s nice to see Billz took a moment to addressing the issue and ensuring transparency in his political campaigning. Still shady he did not earlier, oh well..
Now, can we get some clarity on how the public can better enforce these rules to prevent future breaches!!!!
Reasonable to expect that transparency should be a priority for all.
